Chilly Cheeks

A few weeks ago I went to Reading for a 7.2mi trail race called the Ugly Mudder.
1:39 later I was done. Spent, mentally crushed. It was more of a climbing exhibition than a race and I wasn't expecting it... mentally I checked out in the race. Walked too often approaching the big climbs, at one point I prayed for a helicopter to appear to take me home...

So this Sunday, a second race at the sight... "Chilly Cheeks"... the harder of the two races.
This time joined by Team K.A.S.A.. to join me in the torment.
Mentally prepared... not willing to give less than a great effort too, and knowing what was ahead.

One mistake: worse my waterproof ASR X trail shoes instead of my ASR9s... found they rolled a lot laterally and felt like I was running on the outside of my foot a few times. Tore up the bottom of my feet as well. Made it though. Lesson learned anyway.

So finished somewhere between 1:27 and 1:28... my iphone tracking didn't start for some reason. WTF?
Will find exact time soon. Finished the race with Zim and we crossed together which was fun. Jaime came next around 1:48 and Novia a couple minutes after that... really great for the whole team to get a race in together...
Great race and event and had to race with glasses on because of eye surgery this week! Felt odd.

Nothing scheduled in March so far... not many options though April is full... 1/2 marathon Rumspringa in Admanstown at that cool German village, then the big dog... the 50K.
