22 Days

Just over 3 weeks. Still reading "Born to Run" and it's really one of those stories that is almost too crazy to believe. A ton of history and insight on the running philosophy and technical aspects. Basically the gist is simple: the human foot is BUILT to run and shoes fuck that up, make the foot weak, encourage a stride that is counter-productive and inefficient to running as well as causing injuries.
Only one way to really find out... I ordered some 5-finger vibram trail "shoes". It's going to take a lot of practice to change the way I run, but watching videos of Scott Jurik really helps. Front of the foot, THEN the heel, then knee drive. He makes that motion look easy, and perhaps it will be once I re-program.
Anyway, baby steps... I'm going to try some sections of that style in the next couple of weeks for feel and then the shoes themselves when they show up.
In the meantime I'll stick to the old way and do the best with that.
